In a little town snuggled in the hills overlooking the broad and fertile plain of Esclraelon was a lovely young girl who was engaged to be married to a gracious and faithful man. Their parents were overjoyed for the upcoming union and wedding festivities the families and friends would soon share. This couple loved and adorned one another, even though he was much older than she.
One afternoon as the young girl was busying herself with the chores of the day when she became startled and quite frankly confused. For the angel, Gabriel God’s messenger stood before her. He said, “Greetings, you who are highly Favored!” “The Lord has decided to bless you.” “You will become pregnant and have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High.” Luke 1:26-38
Mary asked the angel, but how can I have a baby? I am a virgin. He began to tell her all that would take place. Mary responded, ” I am the Lord’s servant, I am willing to accept whatever he wants. May everything you have said come true”. It was unbelievable, a miracle unsurpassed in human history, but it could be accomplished by the supernatural power of God, and Elizabeth’s miraculous pregnancy was cited by the angel as evidence.
What an act of faith and trust that Mary displayed. I often wonder do we pause and take time to truly ponder and comprehend the magnitude of faith and trust Mary had when she said, “Lord use me. I trust you!” And this decision is basically a matter of trust. As Mary’s story unfolds we see how much she trusted God.
In doing so her reputation was probably tarnished, people probably shamed her, her family, and her newborn son. Whispers would ring throughout the generations.
I remember when I believed for God to bless my womb. Every doctor said that this would be impossible. Although we endured many trials and even some disappointments My husband and I stood in faith and trusted God to do what He said He would do for me, blessed my womb and He did! Many of you may be facing a situation where you need the gift of trust. I want to encourage you to read the story of Mary and Joseph. Read about our Savior Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God. As in John 1 2-4, He was IN the beginning with God. He created everything there is nothing exists, that He didn’t make. Life itself was in Him, and this life, He gives light to everyone.
Stand in the truth and light of who God is. Believe and Trust Him for the victory you need. For this too is why He came. That we are made victorious. For no word from God will ever fail.” Luke 1:37
