1 Samuel 17:45 You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defiled.

Giants come against us in every form attacking with brute force. They come to defeat, defile, and overtake us. But they can’t be victorious over us if we know who we are and who’s we are. We belong to the Lord.

Goliath approached David with all his strength and might. He was over nine feet tall he had a sword, spear, and javelin which was fitted just for him. He towered over every man in Israel.

In life, giants may appear bigger, stronger, and mightier than we. When they first come upon us we become timid and feel overwhelmed. At first glance, we think there is no way I can defeat this giant! Just like Goliath they taunt, and hurl insults, trying to make us cower down to them. Not David! David knew who he was and who’s he was.

He said I come to you in the name of the Lord Almighty the God of the armies of Israel! His faith was not in the weapons of his warfare but in the power and faithfulness of his God.

He was not easily intimidated (1 Sam 17:44-47): Even though the voice of the enemy shouted in his ears, David was unmoved. He did not confront this giant ill-prepared. He went in with the full knowledge of what he was facing and ran towards the enemy without hesitation.

Filling our hearts and minds with God’s Word before the battle, it will be God’s Word that pours out of our mouths when we face our giants. The enemy will be relentless, and we must be prepared to face constant threats and accusations.

Our courage comes from knowing God’s voice and the word He speaks. Then we become conduits of heaven, issuing decrees and agreeing with our life purpose according to our reigning King.

In Slaying your Giant Part 2 I mentioned that the giant in our life taunted us, tried to restrain and bullied us after the lien was forcefully removed by the Department of Labor and Industry. Our insurance company threw us into two different appraisals refusing to rebuild and pay for our damaged possessions.

The more they refused the more we declared and decreed. I don’t want to make this sound as though it was easy. It was not! There were many nights I cried and prayed myself to sleep with the Word of God. Isaiah 54:17

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

And let us not forget 2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

During the battle, God stretches our faith and deepens our dependence upon Him. Without a strong, abiding faith, we will quickly yield to temptation and fear, especially when the trial or difficulty we are facing is intense or prolonged. God developed David’s trust until it became unshakeable. We must know who we are and whose we are!

Who are we in Christ…

Roman 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

Ephesians 1:5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—

Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

We belong to God in Christ Jesus.

God is Absolute Truth. God is Faithful. God is Sovereign. God is Merciful. God Knows Everything. God is Holy. God is Just. God Never Changes. God is Righteous. God is Ever-Present.

In Acts 27:23-24 Paul realized God was with him. That gave him great confidence. Paul could be strong in his storm. He belonged to God.

So Beloved, our Action Plan is this:

  • Know who we are in Christ Jesus.
  • Know who we belong to; the God of Glory.
  • Garner our shield of faith with which we can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
  • Use whatever you have in your hand to do battle and expect God to see it to fruition.
  • Speak God’s word to Him. He will respond.

The word of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and they are safe! Our righteousness is in Christ Jesus.

The Lord gave my husband and me the victory and their own appraiser ended up siding with us on one of the appraisals, we won both appraisals for our property and our possessions and more. Now you know that is God!! There is no giant coming against us that is greater than our God! Let’s pray.

Dear God,
We believe in you! We know that our God is greater, our God is stronger.
You are higher than any other God, you are a healer, deliver and awesome in power. We stand with you! Amen

Be Blessed and Stand Strong!
